If your browser has blocked access to your camera or microphone, you will not be able to join the call with video or audio, and you will see the following message on screen:

The steps to fix this depend on which browser you are using, since each one manages camera and microphone permissions in a slightly different way. In this article, we walk you through the procedure for the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge

  • Safari and Firefox

If you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge

  • Click on the padlock icon that appears on the left side of the address bar, next to the URL of the meeting

  • In the site settings pop-up, find the Camera and Microphone entries and set both of them to "Allow"

  • Close the settings pop-up by clicking anywhere outside of it

  • Reload the page so that the new permissions take effect

If you are using Safari or Firefox

  • Refresh the tab where the meeting is open

  • Once the page reloads, the browser should show you a prompt asking for permission to use your microphone and camera

  • Click "Allow" to grant access and join the call with audio and video
