Experts in traditional expert networks usually have to wait for an associate to reach out to them when their experience happens to match a project. This means that opportunities depend entirely on being found, and relevant projects can easily pass you by without you ever knowing they existed.

With Arbolus, you can now take a more proactive approach. As a member of the Rewards Programme, you can discover Suggested Projects directly in your account and apply to the opportunities that match your experience, on your own initiative and at your own pace.

When you apply, an Arbolus associate will review your profile against the requirements of the project. If they think you are a strong fit, your application will be fast-tracked and your profile will be presented to the client, giving you a direct route to projects that would otherwise have required waiting to be contacted.

Who can access Suggested Projects?

Suggested Projects are available to experts who are part of the Arbolus Rewards Programme. There are no special requirements to qualify: everyone with an Arbolus account can join.

The Rewards Programme uses your hands-on experience with software to help us identify and match you with relevant projects. To join, you need to review at least 5 software tools that you currently use as a customer. These reviews are the starting point of your profile, not the end of it: you can continue reviewing software at any time after joining the programme. The more relevant and up-to-date software experience you share, the more opportunities we can identify for you and the more accurately we can match you with the right projects.

How do I join the Rewards Programme?

First, you need to be an Arbolus member. Creating an account is free and only takes a few minutes: all you need is an email address, a password and to accept our Terms & Conditions.

Once your account is created, click on one of the options to join the Rewards Programme and start reviewing software. You will need to review at least 5 software tools before you can join the programme. Each review asks you about your real experience as a user of that tool, so there is no preparation required. Once you have completed these reviews, simply confirm your participation and you are in.

Participating in the Rewards Programme comes with several benefits. Among them, the possibility to earn every time a client reads one of your reviews, and the ability to proactively apply to projects through the Suggested Projects section instead of waiting for an associate to contact you.

What software should I review?

Focus on software that you currently use as a customer and know well from day-to-day experience. Clients are looking for people who can speak in detail about how a tool works in practice, what it does well and where it falls short.

The most valuable reviews are typically for software that you:

• Open every day as part of your work

• Use regularly for your own or your team’s workflows

• Rely on to address a specific business need

• Have recent, hands-on experience with

It is important that your experience is current. Former customers, and people who have only used a software during a free trial or a short evaluation, are unlikely to be matched with relevant projects, because clients want to hear from people who use the tool today.

Similarly, experience with very large and widely used software companies such as Microsoft, Google or Amazon is less likely to lead to project opportunities on its own, since almost everyone has some exposure to these products. Instead, focus on the specific software you use regularly and know well in your current role, especially specialised or industry-specific tools where your perspective is harder to find.

Your software experience helps us understand your expertise and identify the projects where your knowledge could be relevant to a client.

How do I find and apply to projects?

Once you are part of the Rewards Programme, go to your Engagements page in your Arbolus account.

There you will see the Suggested Projects section, where you can discover opportunities that may be relevant to your experience, based on the software reviews you have shared with us.

It may take some time before projects appear, as it depends on which projects clients are currently running and how closely they match your profile. The section is updated daily, so keep coming back to see if new opportunities are available.

When you find a project that looks like a good fit, click Apply.

Before you can apply to projects, you will need to complete our compliance training and validate your LinkedIn profile. These steps only need to be done once and help us make sure that every expert presented to a client meets our standards. Additional verification may be required depending on the client commissioning the project.

After you apply, an Arbolus associate will review your Project Application. If your profile is a strong fit for the project, we will fast-track your application and present you to the client. You can apply to more than one project if several of them match your experience.

This gives you a new way to proactively put yourself forward for projects instead of waiting to be contacted, and more control over the opportunities you take part in.

I am not a fit; what else can I do?

If none of the Suggested Projects match your experience, you can still help and be rewarded for it. If you know someone who could be a great fit for a project, you can refer them to Arbolus. If your referral completes a client call, you earn $100.

How can I increase my chances of being matched?

Keep reviewing software that you currently use and know well. You only need 5 reviews to join the Rewards Programme, but there is no upper limit: you can continue reviewing additional software after joining, and each new review gives us more information to match you with projects.

The more relevant and current software experience you share, the more opportunities we can identify and suggest to you. It also helps to keep your profile up to date, so that the projects we suggest reflect your current role and responsibilities.

In addition, you earn whenever a client views one of your software reviews, so every review you add has value even before you are matched with a project.
